چکیده

We present an algorithm to reconstruct gray scale images corrupted by noise. We use a Bayesian approach. The unknown original image is assumed to be a realization of a Markov random field on a finite two dimensional region Λ ⊂ Z2. This image is degraded by some noise, which is assumed to act independently in each site of Λ and to have the same distribution on all sites. For the estimator we use the mode of the posterior distribution: the so called maximum a posteriori (MAP) estimator. The algorithm, that can be used for both gray-scale and multicolor images, uses the binary decomposition of the intensity of each color and recovers each level of this decomposition using the identification of the problem of finding the two color MAP estimator with the min-cut max-flow problem in a binary graph, discovered by Greig, Porteous and Seheult (1989). Experimental results and a detailed example are given in the text. We also provide a web page where additional information and examples can be found. Evaluation of gray scale changes of CBCT system images in different axis using the DICOM file

The images of dental CBCT imaging systems used in conic shaped beams, stored in the DICOM format, have various applications in the dentistry, including bone density estimation to select the location of the orthodontic implant, bone loss detection and etc. In these systems, unlike CT imaging systems, the resulting images exhibit gray-scale non-uniformity in each of the different axis in FOV. Thi...

Sparsely Connected Autoassociative Fuzzy Implicative Memories for the Reconstruction of Large Gray-Scale Images

Autoassociative fuzzy implicative memories (AFIMs) are models that exhibit optimal absolute storage capacity and an excellent tolerance with respect to incomplete or eroded patterns. Thus, they can be effectively used for the reconstruction of gray-scale images. In practice, however, applications of AFIMs are confined to images of small size due to computational limitations. This paper introduc...

Influences of reconstruction and attenuation correction in brain SPECT images obtained by the hybrid SPECT/CT device: evaluation with a 3‐dimensional brain phantom

Objective: The aim of this study was to evaluate the influences of reconstruction and attenuation correction on the differences in the radioactivity distributions in 123I brain SPECT obtained by the hybrid SPECT/CT device. Methods: We used the 3-dimensional (3D) brain phantom, which imitates the precise structure of gray mater, white matter and bone regions. It was filled with 123I solution (20...

Evaluation of the gray level in CBCT systems and its relationship with HU in CT Scanners

Introduction: Cone-beam CT (CBCT) is an imaging system which offers three-dimensional (3D), multiplanar images and has many advantages over computed tomography (CT) including shorter acquisition times for the resolution desired in dentistry, lower radiation dose to the patient, reasonable price and higher spatial resolution but CBCT scanners are unable to display actual Hounsf...
